What if Words Aren't an Option?
Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) is the term for all the tools and strategies used to help people who struggle with verbal speech. It can be a simple drawing board, a sign language gesture, or a high-tech speech-generating device. The goal of AAC is not to return vocabulary, but to increase it and guarantee that every individual has a dedicated way to express their thoughts, wants, and feelings. It’s about finding what works and giving everyone the power to touch.
